View Full Version : Dis-associated Code Behind files

My vb.net solution is separating the code behind (aspx.vb) files from the aspx files by putting them into the "miscellaneous files" folder. I'm not sure what caused this, or how to fix it.

The problem isn't critical, as I can open an aspx file, and it correctly brings up the code when I ask for it. The reverse also works.

However, I just tried to convert to vs/vb2008, and I am getting a lot of errors that look like they are caused by this problem.

Is there a way to re-associate the aspx parts? what caused this.

Thanks in advance,

Well, what do the error messages say?

Off the top of my head, I would guess you're VB.Net 3.0 isn't totally backwards compatible with VB.Net 1.1.

When I was making a similar conversion, VS was generating 100s of errors because none of my code behinds could find buttons or labels on the page. I'd get a lot of "lblMsg not found",

Everything worked fine afterward.

Maybe you're having a similar problem?

Thanks for the reply. I will change the codebehind as you recommend. I found that the actual fix for my immediate problem was to click on "show all files" in the solution explorer... now all my .vb's are associated with the aspx's in the original tree structure.
