View Full Version : Is Google poor at making iOS apps?

Just last month, when Google had a bug with their Google Voice app and had to pull it out of the iOS store. What is Google doing wrong to when coding their iOS apps? Are they not testing the apps? No test devices on hand. Here is a link to an ars article about Google voice being pulled.

I don’t get why this keeps happening and also how the apps seem to keep slipping through Apple’s quality control checks.

Google Voice is ok…

voice is ok but i never get notifications when im supposed to …
honestly i dont think google cares a lot about their ios apps … i think they put them there to make it looks like they want to be everywhere but they really would rather you just switched to an android phone

There’s a few things going on here. #1 Why would Apple want you to have a better mail experience outside their own app. Maybe they didn’t check it as thoroughly as they would other apps. #2 I know Google makes their money on search and adds, but I’m sure they would rather you do it on one of their handsets. #3 Maybe Apple knew about the bug, allowed it through to make people think twice about leaving Apple in the future for Android.
