View Full Version : Old Video Games

I am starting to go and replay all these old video game series and I would like some suggestions. I am young, so I did not have the privilege of growing up and collecting these games. I first decided to get all the Metroid games and later decided I would also like to get all of the Zelda ones (not all, more like most).
I am asking for suggestions. I have most of the necessary consoles (a Gameboy Advance SP, DS Lite, Gamecube, Wii) to find all of the games as remakes (like Metroid Zero Mission), ports (if I am missing one, there is always virtual console), and other methods. Any other series I should go through? I am steering away from Mario because I haven't been as attached to that franchise. They don't have to be made by nintendo either. They can be decently recent. Mega Man crossed my mind, but there just seems to be too many games to get them all and I have no idea where to start.
Thanks in advance.

A Wii can get you most of the Nintendo classics on VC. Zelda/Mario games.
If the Retron 5 finally came out, that would be a different story.

Ok, on my MacBook Majora’s mask runs fairly consistently at 20 fps. I still think it’s playable but that could be an issue for some people.

That’s how I assumed it would be: an issue for some, but surely manageable. Considering the cost savings, I will live with it. Had I not read that, I probably wouldn’t have noticed.

If you have a PS3, but haven’t played Metal Gear before, check out the Metal Gear Solid: The Legacy Collection (http://www.amazon.com/Metal-Gear-Solid-Collection-Playstation-3/dp/B00CTKHXFO/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1377547498&sr=8-1&keywords=metal+gear+solid+legacy+collection). $50 gets you Metal Gear, Metal Gear 2, Metal Gear Solid, MGS2, MGS3, MGS4 and MGS: Peace Walker.
